Retirement News

The Reverend Roger Stubbings will be retiring this summer after being at Monton since 2001. Although he will be greatly missed, we wish him well in his retirement with every blessing.

The Reverend Jeffrey Walker will, subject to the Methodist Conference, be succeeding Roger as Superintendent Minister of the Salford Circuit.  Jeff is known to many of us as he was the Minister at Patricroft, Boundary Road and Glazebrook from 1999 until 2004.  We look forward to welcoming him at a Service to be held at Worsley Road Methodist Church at 7pm on Saturday 30th August 2008 along with Deacon Gillian Skinner.

Methodist Conference 2008

The Methodist Conference for 2008-2009 will be held in Scarborough in July.  David S. Walton, Choirmaster here at Monton, will be inducted as the Vice-President of the Conference on Saturday 5th July 2008 at 2.30pm.  Our thoughts and prayers, and some of our members, will be with him at this time.

Annual Church Meeting

The Annual Church Meeting will be held after the Morning Service on Sunday 20th April 2008 for its required purposes;

'for fellowship, for mutual counsel respecting the condition of the

local church, including its financial affairs, for the election of

church stewards and representatives (to the Church Council)'

There are eight vacancies for Representatives to the Church Council and written nominations should be in the hands of the Minister by 13th April 2008.  Those nominated and those nominating must be members of the Methodist Church.
